Each Summer I take a break from the weekly pictures and stories and pick back up in the Fall.
So how does one know when Fall officially begins.
Not necessarily to all the above. The official beginning of Fall is marked by the arrival of the Fall catalogs in our mailbox. I'll admit I'm a Fall junkie. All those catalogs are plugging beautiful pictures of Autumn activities. People hunkered around a campfire, blankets wrapped around each sipping hot chocolate (err, I mean Pumpkin Spice Lattes). It is my favorite time of year, all three days of it.
Louisburg Cider Mil
Out at the Louisburg Ciderfest (pre-weekend), I heard a truck horn to my left and saw the trailer of this three axle semi-trailer dump truck raised with apples extending the full length of the bed. In all the years that we have visited the Cider Mill, I have never seen how they loaded the holding container. I ran over as quick as I could only to capture the image after it started to drop its load. They fill this bin which begins the apple journey to apple cider and other treats.
A trip to the Louisburg Cider Mill is not complete without some hot or cold cider and cider donuts, squeezed, bottled and baked on site. If you want to experience everything good about Fall check out the Louisburg Cider Mill particularly this weekend and next for the 2017 Louisburg Ciderfest complete with music, crafts booths, Country Store and The Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch. Check out the Louisburg Cider Mill website for more information.
