RIDE'N OUT FRONT OF THE FIRE Some my best photo opportunities have come from paid photography workshops and getting access to what would be difficult to do on my own. It also requires me to get my boots dirty, slicker wet and otherwise plain worn out from a little work. You can't point your camera out the back window and get this kind of shot. The photo behind this picture was taken a couple of years back during a Kansas Flint Hills Prairie burn. It was a long day, up early, out all day and late into the evening. I'm just glad the night's stay was more than a bunkhouse, although I was so tired it probably wouldn't have mattered. This particular ranch still uses cowboys and horses for most of the work. ________________________ "Sometimes you just gotta ride"
