November 01, 2015

November is that month where fall completes its transition to winter.  I like it for its rustic nature, cold and damp weather, the fireplace, candles, pine cones, critters in the back yard, spices, turkey dinner, pumpkin pie and mulled cider.  Getting together with family and friends.  A few days off from the daily routine.  And a time of thanks.

This picture was taken at the Restoration Emporium located in the Kansas City Bottoms (near the old stockyards).  It and several similar stores ply the recherch√©.  It is a great morning or afternoon jaunt.

"November comes

And November goes,

With the last red berries

And the first white snows.

With night coming early,

And dawn coming late,

And ice in the bucket

And frost by the gate.

The fires burn

And the kettles sing,

And earlth sinks to rest

Until next spring."
