UNION STATION

One of the great Kansas City restoration efforts was the Union Station project which in turn helped to spawn the same with the surrounding Freight docks, buildings, shops and restaurants. The Amtrak stop has returned the station to its glory days of train travel. But it is the special events that is the occasion for us to visit the station.

Apparently (and unbeknownst to me at the time), included in wedding vows, somewhere after the "for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health" (to which my wife replied "yes, no, yes, no, no, yes"), buried deep in the fine print is a section known as 'The Obligations'. One of which is that the husband must willingly participate, enjoy (AKA mandatory husband fun) and attend events such as the Princess Diana Exhibit. I did my best.

Take heart, once you have met your vows and obligations its pretty smooth . . . uuhhh well as I think about it there is also 'The Expectations'. These are more elusive and not written down anywhere. You are expected to know the unknown, hear the unspoken and do things without being asked.

Ok, so to restate, once you have met your vows, obligations and expectations you are in the . . . huuummm well I almost forgot something very important 'The Particulars'. These are the God given fine tunings unique to your spouse. The quicker you identify, memorize and master these the better.

Well now, I believe that addresses everything. So clearly if one has met their vows, obligations, expectations and the particulars one can sit back and . . . oh geez, I guess there is also 'The Feelings'   .   .   .
