I've always enjoyed those things made at the hands of a craftsman. My perception is that the item has a measure of quality and reflects the unique and time honed skills of the craftsman (or craftswoman). I prefer the wobble and the slight differences of a set that is absent from that stamped on an assembly line. Crafts usually carry the name of the craftsman which personalizes the item and over time makes it valuable in the sense of knowing who created it.

October is the time of the year that is rich in crafter's and their crafts. Pictured above is one of the craft booths at SDC's Harvest Festival from a few years past. This years Harvest Festival runs through October 31, 2009.
