STANDING TALL

Deft hands, a steady eye and absolute concentration are the trademark of Mark Edwards. When asked how he got started hewing logs -- he likes to tell people "I needed a job". Some 23 years later he is highly regarded for his quality craftsmanship.

Standing tall atop a timber, Mark wields his ax in precision cuts -- first notching along the length on both sides -- then clearing the wood between the notches before he finishes with a broadax. The wedge cuts on the ends of each log are made with custom fit angles to interlock the logs.

You can view his workmanship at the Wilderness Campground cabins.
